Isaac and Daddy go camping!

Dan took Isaac camping at Kettle Morraine last night. He went with a family from church that has 2 middle-school age boys. They had fun cooking out and sleeping in the tent. Today they went hiking and to the lake. Isaac had fun exploring new things and hanging out with their dog.

Free fun!

We went out with our friends the Goles. They have a daughter, Anna, the same age as Isaac. We had a gift certificate we received at a silent auction earlier this year. It included pizza, pop, and tokens. We also were able to play glow-in-the-dark mini golf (although with 2 toddlers, it was more like chase the balls in the dark!). The kids had fun riding on the horses and also the pizza wheel. Poor Joshua, the Goles' younger son, had to just sit in the stroller and watch. He was such a good baby though.

I could do this all night!

Anna riding on the merry-go-round!

Look how high I can go on the pizza wheel!

King Dave with the kiddos.

I'm not too sure about this, daddy!

Not something you see everyday!

Isaac and I were having lunch today and I saw a beautiful big butterfly land on our window screen. I haven't seen such a large butterfly out in the open. It was a cool reminder of God's awesome creation.

Look at me, Mom!

Isaac has accomplished a new skill...climbing! We are entering a whole new world with him. He seems to have no fear and is all boy. This makes for a very nervous mother :) I'll be doing a lot of praying during his growing up years!!

Isaac's "namesake" dies

Isaac Hayes (unlike our Isaac Hays - no "e") died today at the age of 65. When we named our son, we actually didn't know of anyone famous with the name. The first time I called to make a doctor's appointment for Isaac, I got a chuckle from the receptionist. By the time Isaac gets older, not too many people may remember this legend.
We'll have to keep this in mind when picking out the name of our next baby! I guess that means we should avoid Rutherford :)

Rib Fest

We had a fun day hanging out together as a family. It was nice not having anything on the agenda. What a gorgeous day!! We spent the morning planting mums and doing yard work. Isaac had fun playing in the mud and "helping" daddy. Tonight we went to Rib Fest at Gurnee Days. The rib dinner was tasty and Isaac even enjoyed chomping on a rib.

Long Lake

Reunion at the lake!

Isaac climbing on the dock.

Isaac throwing rocks, his favorite activity!

Fishing with Daddy!

Lake time with Aunt Cindy and cousin Naomi

Wish I could drive!!

Thank goodness for all these rocks!

We had a fun time visiting Dan's family up at Long Lake in Wisconsin. Isaac had fun seeing all his relatives again. There were lots of rocks for him to play with, so he had a lot of fun with those. He also enjoyed the water. Dan did a lot of fishing and we came home with a bunch of fish. We will definitely need to have a fish fry soon. He also got in some water skiing and tubing. I was very thankful that God blessed us with such good weather, especially being 6&1/2 months pregnant. I was able to play a bunch of cribbage with Darrell, and even managed to win some!
