Playground Set...Part 3
My parents came to visit this week. They arrived on Monday night shortly after I got off work. We were both welcomed with a nice message from Dan and the boys. They had been busy drawing with chalk on the driveway!! Dad helped Dan paint the swingset on Tuesday. We were thankful for nice weather. Mom kept the boys occupied at the park in our neighborhood since they couldn't be in our backyard. They had a lot of fun with Grandma and Grandpa in town!! We have one more swing to put up and then it should be all set. The boys are very excited to have their own playground set in the backyard.

Playground Set...Part 2
Dan and his dad got the swings put up yesterday. Isaac was especially excited, as he loves to swing. Levi's favorite thing is to roll golf balls down the slide. He was having a lot of fun entertaining himself with those. Now we just need to do a little sanding (the boys got a few splinters) and paint the whole thing. It's a good thing we have such wonderful parents who are willing to help us :)

Playground set...Part 1
Last fall, some friends of ours from church asked if we would like their neighbor's playground set. Their children were getting older and they were ready to part with it. We were very excited for their generosity. With the help of some family members prior to Levi's birthday party, they were able to disassemble the playground set and move it to our house. It has been sitting on our back patio since then, waiting for the weather to cooperate. Overall, it was in great condition, but did need a few new boards which is why we waited until spring to tackle this project!
Dan's parents came to visit us this week and his dad was able to help Dan start this daunting project. They have made huge progress and were able to assemble half of the playground set. Dan was able to round up a few of the high school students to come over this afternoon to move the play house onto the posts. We were very thankful for their help!! By the end of the day, the boys were even able to go up and climb on it. It was so cute to watch them go in the little playhouse and dance around!!
Some friends of the boys, Kate and Ella, along with their father Marc (their mother Kristin was away on a women's retreat this weekend) came over for a fish fry. They had a lot of fun playing with the boys in the playhouse and on the slide (too bad I didn't get any pictures of that :( ) The work Dan and his dad put into it this weekend was definitely worth it!! Now we just need to get the swings put up :)
Hide and Seek
The boys have had fun with Grandma Donna and Grandpa Stan in town. They have both joined in the chasing and hiding with Isaac and Levi. If you come to our house, you are bound to get your fair share of exercise chasing the boys around!!

Cancun 2010
We had a great trip to Cancun last week. We were able to stay with my parents at their time share at Royal Caribbean. We left Tuesday morning (3/30)...it was the first time we actually had to wake the boys up :) They weren't too happy with us but once we got going, they ended up doing OK. Our flights went well and we actually arrived in Cancun ahead of schedule. We surprised Mom and Dad in the lobby when we showed up an hour earlier than expected!!
The boys LOVED the beach. It was a huge sandbox for them. They had fun digging, knocking down "sand castles", and looking for sea shells. I guess Cancun spent $70 million this past year restoring the beaches after the hurricane several years ago. It was gorgeous. We were finding lots of beautiful shells because they had brought in sand from the ocean floor. One family ended up giving us 6 huge shells they had found because they had too many (over 30)!! That was a treat for us. The boys also loved running in the water and then letting the waves chase them out. Daddy was great at keeping up with them :)
The pool was a big hit too. It was nice that they had a kid pool that was only 2 feet deep. Both boys were able to walk around in the water which was nice. Levi had no fear and would slip sometimes and go under water. He would come back up, wipe off his eyes, and keep going. It didn't seem to bother him a bit. Isaac liked the water too but was a little more cautious :) They both enjoyed jumping off the stairs into the pool.
We enjoyed going out in the evenings to different restaurants with my parents and one night, Dan and I got to go out by ourselves! After the boys went to bed in the evenings, we relaxed by reading or playing cards.
Since we were there Tues-Wed, we overlapped a few days when my two aunts and uncles came down on Saturday. It was fun seeing them. We were able to go swimming with them one day and have lunch and then our last night we had dinner with them.
Our flight back was LOOOOOOOOOOOONG. We had a layover in Houston. We actually did really well in the morning. We got to Houston about 20 minutes ahead of schedule and made it through immigration and customs with no problem. We stopped and had lunch at the food court then went to find out gate. When we got there, we found out our flight had been delayed a little over an hour. Well, that ended up turning into 2&1/2 hours so we were at the Houston airport for over 6 hours. The boys did pretty well, considering the circumstances. Dan was able to get Levi to take a good nap by walking him around in the stroller. Isaac slept a little bit but was much more interested in his surroundings! On the flight back, we let Isaac watch a movie but Levi was very antsy and didn't want to sit still. We were exhausted just from trying to keep him in our seats! At the end of the flight, as we were starting to descend, Isaac told us he had to go to the bathroom. After telling him that we had to wait until we landed, he informed us he didn't feel very good. The next thing I knew, he was throwing up! Fortunately, I was able to catch most of it in the bag they provide. I'm sure the flight crew wasn't too excited about having to change out a seat when the flight was already extremely delayed! What can you do :) One we got off the plane, things went smoothly and the boys fell asleep on the way home. It was a wonderful trip but always good to be home!!
