Seniors Only Retreat

We had our annual Seniors Only retreat in May up in Lake Geneva.  It's a time to celebrate the high school seniors and send them off into the next stage of life.  We pray that through this ministry, their faith would remain strong as they go off on their own next year.

Dan and I took the kids with us this year.  I was planning on helping out with food and not being real involved in the discussion part since I would need to entertain the kids.  In the afternoon while Levi and Elise were sleeping, Isaac went with the group to the lake and did some canoeing.  After dinner, I took the kids to the park while the rest of the group started their meeting.  I ended up feeling sick to my stomach and when I returned to the house, I ended up getting sick.  Ugh.  I guess Dan had gotten sick too, although I didn't realize it.  The kids and I all shared a room so we went to bed and I was hoping to get some good sleep and feel better.  Around midnight, Levi woke up and threw up.  He ended up being sick on and off for about 3 hours.  I had just enough changes of clothes and bedding with me...thank you Lord!  Around the time that Elise started stirring in the morning (around 6:00am), Isaac woke up and also got sick.  At that point, we decided it was best to head home!  Dan stuck it out and stayed the rest of the day on Sat. 

They had a great day on Sat going to Lake Geneva and spending time together as a group.  They do a time of encouragement and prayer, which the students really enjoy.  It ended up being a great weekend for them.  Unfortunately, the stomach bug quickly made it's way through the group and most everyone ended up getting sick on Sat night or Sun.  Thankfully they all recovered quickly and were very forgiving!!
